Trail Description
Top of the World ATV trail offers a spectacular view on top of some really high (and dangerous if your not careful) cliffs that on a clear day you can see Arches National Park, Colorado, Castle Valley, La Sal Mountians, and many other places. To get their from Moab, take Highway 191 to Highway 128 just before you cross the Colorado River. Follow highway 128 along the Colorado River until you reach Dewey Bridge. Turn right before you cross the bridge on Entrada Bluffs road (also known as the Kokopelli Trail). Follow the dirt road south for about five miles until you reach the Top of the World sign.
The beginning of the trail is along a well groomed dirt road and is easy. Eventually you will reach a fork in the road with a sign pointing right for Top of the World. The trail begins to head out toward the cliffs and views. There are few rocky climbs with ledges, but nothing extremely difficult. As you get closer to the Top of the World lookout, the trail breaks into a few different routes. Stay on the main trail and you'll make it to the cliffs and can return on the part of the loop you missed. This is a fun ride and a must see view for every Moab lover.

I rode the Top of the World trail on Friday and loved it. The ride isn't really difficult (a few rocky areas but nothing too scary) and the views at the end are the best in the Moab area. It can get a little confusing riding up to the top, but most roads lead to the end of the trail if you just keep going. We also spent some time on the Kokepeli (sp?) road after we came off the trail and also loved that trail. It wasn't at all difficult, but the views were incredible. This is a great family ride.
For the views alone, this trail is a must ride in the Moab area (not to mention the riding is pretty good). There really aren't many other areas in southern Utah that take you to such a stunning overlook. The trail is really fun (confusing at times) but is a good ride for the family.
Top of the world should also include the ride to the Dolores river overlook. This ride can easily be done in a half day, with some incredible vistas. There are several side trips to some of the mesas, so take care to not get lost.
