The Flat Tops offers over 200,000 acres in the Routt and White River National Forests. This is remote ATV camping at its best. With over 300 miles of trails, numerous lakes and streams, this is not a day trip ride. Plan on spending several days at the Flat Tops enjoying the beauty of this back country area.There is not much in the way of challenging, technical trails but the scenery more than compensates for this.

You will want to be sure to carry a fishing pole because there are several lakes and streams you will encounter on many of the trails, some of the lakes are so crystal clear you can not help but want to throw in a line because of all the fish you can see. The Flat Tops is truly a beautiful area with miles and miles of leisurely riding.

On many of the trails you will encounter herds of elk, sheep and maybe a bear or two. You will see vast meadows carpeted with flowers and large valleys of trees. You will need to pack in extra fuel as you will need it. There are plenty of dispersed camping areas so get yourself a map and plan your trip.
