Trail Description

Pritchett Canyon is one of the most difficult trails in Moab with many people agreeing that it's the toughest four mile stretch of all the Moab ATV trails. We were only able to get two of the 6 machines in our group to the top because we were running out of daylight. So we recommend that you do this ride as a morning ride and pack a lunch as it may take longer than expected.

There is no way you can ride this trail alone. Take group of three or four and a rope. If you like climbing obstacles that really shouldn't be climbed - you will like this ride. You will either have to pile rocks, lift your machine, use your winch, or a combination of the three to get to the top of this one. A 4x4 machine with plenty of power is a must have. The tough obstacles on Pritchett Canyon include the rock pile and rocker knocker.

Once you reach the top of Pritchett canyon, most ATV riders go back the same way they came up. However, this trail merges with the Behind the Rocks trail at the top and if someone is willing to pick you up at the trail head of Behind the rocks you won't have to back track. It makes for a fun day (and tiring) if you spend some time on both trails.

Please review our Terms and Conditions before riding this trail and always remember to Tread Lightly.
