Trail Description
The Paiute Trail System is a comprehensive trail system that connects central Utah towns. Fillmore, Richfield, Salina, Beaver, Marysville, Joseph, Kanosh, Meadow, and many more. Riders can travel into these towns on designated streets to purchase fuel and supplies or find a hotel. The Paiute atv trail is known as one of the top rated trail systems in the US and is a MUST ride for all Utah atv enthusiasts.
The Marysvale section of the Paiute trail is one of the most popular. Many riders use the city of Marysvale as their base camp as the trail literally runs around the small town. You can take the trail west out of Marysvale and follow Beaver Creek Canyon until it joins the main trail, or you can head east and cross the Sevier River until you join the main trail. ATVs are even allowed on designated streets within town boundries. There are also several places to stay in Marysvale including hotels and campsites. The town has restaurants and ATV rental and parts shops.
Because the Paiute Trail System has so many miles of trails and points of origination, we've broken the Paiute Trail into the following sections:
• Circleville
• Koosharem
• Fillmore
• Kanosh
• Beaver
• Marysvale
• Richfield
• Salina
There are over 2000 miles of interconnected trails with great views. Many of the trails and roads are marked with appropriate signs, but there are some that are not. It is highly recommended that riders take trail maps and GPS units with them as they ride. It's also recommended that riders know what sections they would like to ride before going out. A large portion of this trail system is actually accessible by truck, but there are some difficult double track sections of trail that should only be tackled by experienced riders.
We are gathering more trail information specific to each of the major towns associated with the Paiute Trail. If you are familiar with the trails in these areas and would like to provide content or pictures please send an email to info@atvtrailreviews.com.
Please review our Terms and Conditions before riding this trail and always remember to Tread Lightly.

The Marysville portion of the Paiute trail has some great trails. There is an old mining town up one of the canyons that has a walking tour that the kids found entertaining.
My favorite portion of the Paiute Trail can be accessed from Marysville. If you follow the road towards the Freemont Indian Visitors center, there is a double track trail (limited width - I don't think that you can take a side by side OHV down this trail (at least not the wide ones - but I may be wrong)) that goes down the mountain side to the North that is so much fun it should be illegal. The fun doesn't stop at the bottom where the trail switches to a road that goes in and out of the creek several times which provides a great chance to splash an un-expecting friend.
Marysvale is one of the greatest ATV cities in the world. It almost seems like the entire city was built with ATV's in mind. The people are friendly and the trails around the city are incredible. There is no other trail that I know about or have ridden that compares to the Paiute. Most people in Utah don't realize what we have in the Paiute trail. The riding is first class, the scenery is beautiful, the wildlife, rivers and lakes, other riders...etc...everything is great. This is definitely a must ride trail if you've never been on the Paiute before.
I agree that this area was "custom built" for ATV riders. I've been riding these trails for several years now and have a hard time thinking of another trail I'd rather ride. Every year we meet people from all over the US that tell us we don't realize how lucky we are to have this trail in Utah. These people spend their family vacations riding the trails and exploring the areas. I love to just ride the paiute where it takes me without spending a lot of time with maps. However in order to do this you have to have a GPS so you know how to get back.
To the east of Marysvale and along the Paiute 02 (Marysvale Loop) is Monroe Mountain. Elevations average ~9500-10000 feet.
Most of this trail section stays fairly cool in the Summer months and in some spots, depending on the tree cover, can be wet and much cooler.
On July 11-12 (2009), we rode the Paiute 02 to the 01 and camped along one of the many lakes on the mountain (Manning Reservoir). Fishing is great, with a 22" or larger being the only acceptable keep.
Many areas of the mountain were devastated in 2000 when a fire burned many of the aspens.
From this area, a well known trail (Anderson Dairy), Trail 89 makes a great loop off the Paiute 01. It's a moderately technical section of trail that takes you through the heart of the burned remnants of this once awesome pine & aspen forest.
Be sure to bring a sweatshirt (even in summer), as temps can quickly drop below 40F in the afternoon. Bring wet weather gear as well since these high mountains are prone to fast moving thunderstorms.
