This trail rocks!

Where is this trail? I can't find it!

This trail system is better known as the Shoshone Trail system, it runs from as far north as the Bear Lake overlook up Logan canyon and as far south as the Monte Cristo trail head. There are several ways to access this trail system, Right Hand Fork up Logan Canyon, Left Hand Fork up Blacksmith Fork Canyon, Hardware Ranch, Monte Cristo, plus several others. It is a great trail system, many different trails. You can drop into Garden City to the north, Randolf to the east, good places to refuel and get something to eat or access the trail system from these locations as well.

Trail Description

Logan Canyon (also known as Bear Lake Summit, Blacksmith Fork Canyon, or the Temple Fork Trail System) has some great places to ride ATV's for every type of rider. With an estimated 200+ miles of great trails, it's a fun place to spend a long weekend exploring or just head up for a few hours. In order to really see all this trail system has to offer, several trips will need to be made and started from different trail head locations. Logan Canyon is east of Logan city and west of Garden city or Bear Lake. There are several places to park and ride this trail all along US-89. A good map will come in handy as you follow this trail system and look for different trail heads.

Most of the trail is jeep width and winds through cedars, pines, aspen, and sagebrush. It can definitely get rocky in some places and can be very dusty when it hasn't rained in a while. This trail system offers some incredible views of Bear Lake and wildlife can been seen all along the trail. Because of the harsh winters, the Logan Canyon ATV trails are typically difficult to ride before Memorial Day and sometime even in to late June.
