Gold Bar Rim
Trail Description
Gold Bar Rim is a very difficult ATV trail. If you are going to ride this trail, do so in a group so that you can assist each other over the difficult obstacles.
This ride begins in the parking lot of that is also used for Gemini Bridges and Metal Masher. After going along the cliff side the road will go down into the bottom of the canyon and will eventually come to a T intersection. Turn right for Gemini Bridges and Metal Masher, and turn left for Gold Bar Rim. The Gold Bar Rim trail goes up to the top of the cliff above Hwy 191 as it leads towards Moab across from Arches National Park. It then proceeds to the Golden Crack which is a very challenging obstacle.
Most riders will end the ride here, but if you are up for adventure get across the crack and the trail turns into the Golden Spike trail that ends up joining the Poison Spider Trail.
This is a tough Trail with some great views. As with many other Moab ATV Trails, this trail should not be ridden alone. Take a rope and and take some friends. If you have the ability to leave a vehicle in the Poison Spider trail head parking lot, you can combine this trail with Golden Spike. Most people will take this trail to the Golden Crack, turn around and come back.
There are some great views of Arches National Park and Hwy 191 from the top.
