Recent Moab Trip Submitted by admin on Mon, 03/30/2009 - 20:00

We just returned home from another incredible Moab ATV trip and were once again reminded of how unbelievable the Moab area is for ATV riding. This city not only offers some of the greatest Utah ATV trails, it offers some of the top ATV trails in the nation. We only had two days to ride and we definitely made the most of it. Our first ride was Cliff Hanger (also known as Amasa Back). You can read reviews of this trail, but needless to say it was brutal. This may be ranked a little lower down the list of Moab Jeep trails, but for an ATV, it's a 4+ in difficulty.

Ridiculous ban on on youth Vehicles Submitted by admin on Wed, 03/18/2009 - 15:38

The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has made a video public service announcement (PSA) regarding the current ban on the sale of youth off-highway vehicles (OHVs), which includes motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles, intended for kids 12 and under. Do what you can to get this ban overturned. Spread the word.

Springtime in Moab & Saving Money Submitted by admin on Mon, 03/16/2009 - 20:25

Moab utah in the spring is one of the most beautiful places I have been. The red desert dust is still moist from, not as scarce, winter rain/snow. The red sand still contrasts with the normal environment you are used to.
With this particular trip we met some great people. We had a little mishap on one of our rides that morning and needed a part. We traveled to the one spot that we knew was open, Moab Motorsports just south of city center Moab. The service we received was great, and as we talked the conversation ended up in an all to familiar song, "Motorsports enthusiasts" vs. "those not so enthusiastic about motor sports" (to put it lightly). There was discussion about trails being closed, opening trails, rally's etc...

As we mentioned before in "part I"of our beginner guide we want to make sure that ultimately you choose what you are comfortable with. This second and final part of the “beginners ATV guide” we are going to discuss features that are sometimes assumed by the veterans of ATV riding.

The Growth of ATV's in Utah Submitted by admin on Tue, 03/03/2009 - 20:47

Now that it's March and Winter is officially over (we wish), things quickly start turning to that time of year when thousands of Utah ATV riders are headed out to the hills. Over the years, it seems like more and more people are taking up ATV riding in Utah. On the popular weekends like Easter, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and the summer holidays, it seems like every other truck on the freeway is pulling a couple ATV's. Even on the non holiday weekends the traffic is packed with OHV's headed out to the hills. The popular destinations are jammed with ATV's and people wanting to get out and have a great time.

We decided to look into the growth of Utah ATV registrations and found some interesting data. According to http://tax.utah.gov/esu/motor/, in:
