Can you Smell it?!?! For some it is the smell of Football season, The upcoming deer or elk hunt, maybe the smell of new clothes for an "all to soon" first day of school; For me it is the upcoming holiday "Labor Day" and the traditional mayhem of the Labor Day weekend. I hope you have put considerable thought into your destination for Labor Day. There is nothing better than an ATV ride as a send off to Summer and a welcome to the oncoming Fall. Some tips geared for the ATV rider to consider in your upcoming travel plans.

1. "To and Fro". Remember you are hauling a few extra thousand pounds on the trailer or in the back of the truck or RV, make sure you plan to travel as much in the daylight as possible so you can see your load and watch it to prevent any unfortunate mishaps.

2. Unloading and loading. You can watch the great Unloading ATV video we posted a while back. but remember to make sure you have the tri-fold ramps, they are the safest in my opinion, also make sure they are secured to something.

3. Fill up your machine before you leave. One of the things that makes me crazy is getting to my spot and realizing I didn't fill up. I started to fill them up after the trip so If I was in a hurry for the next trip and did forget they were full. One other pet peeve I have is when people use the lowest grade gasoline, just my opinion thought

4. On the trail: Remember that we are sharing trails out their be respctful of the bike riders, horseback, motorcyles etc... I try to pass them slowly so not to raise to much dust, and let's be honest it can be a bit unsafe passing by to fast, accidents are split second occurences you would hate for it to be as you were passing by someone to fast. Keep an eye out for trail riders coming from the other direction: use hand signals to let them now the number of people behind you.

5. Be Safe: Helmets, Helmets, Helmets. I have been guilty of just going on a quick ride and thought "Awww I don't need it we will only be gone for a second". Be safe and use the helmet.

6. Have fun... I look forward to seeing some great reviews by the new destinations you choose from the site. Send us some pictures, write a review and HAVE FUN!!!
